How does A+ Premium Filtering Work? A+ Premium Filtering is a sub-server based system. All filtering takes place on the S4F servers, not on your computer. Every time you type in an Internet address, or click on a link to an Internet address, or type in a word to search for, the address or word you requested is routed past the S4F servers where it is checked against the S4F block list. If your request is not on our list, you proceed as normal to the site you requested. If your request is on our list, you get a message stating that the site you requested has been blocked along with an explanation. Since we have lightning-speed computers and a super fast connection to the Internet, the whole process of checking your request takes less than a second once it reaches the Internet. That's how simple it is! No weekly or monthly downloads, no constant monitoring, no need to rate sites or make system adjustments. HEDGEBUILDERS does all of the work for you. You won't even know it's there until you stumble into a pornographic site - and that day will come! With A+ Premium Filtering you will receive the block screen instead of the pornography. It really is that simple! Can I use HB on more than one computer for the same price? For individual homes the S4F filter can be loaded on up to 3 computers for no additional charge. Beyond that additional computers are $2 per month. For businesses the first computer is $6 a month, and each additional computer is $3 per month. If I cancel before my subscription is up will I get a refund? Yes. All refunds are based on the number of whole unused months left in a users HB subscription minus a small admin fee. Set-up fees are non-refundable once the two-week free trial has been completed and the new user billed. In order to receive a refund you have to follow our established refund procedure. How does A+ Premium Filtering handle Chat rooms? Chat rooms and Newsgroups are reviewed and those deemed inappropriate are blocked. How does A+ Premium Filtering control the sexually explicit site descriptions that can come up in Search Engines? Search engines are a useful tool in surfing the web. Unfortunately they post descriptions of all web sites, many of which are full of profane and sexually explicit language. Most search engines allow use of word filtering, while a few do not. In an attempt to limit the obscenities HEDGEBUILDERS blocks the few search engines that will not allow word filtering. All major search engines are filtered and available for your use. What if I want to exempt a site that is on your block list? Exempting is not available when using A+ Premium Filtering. Sites can be submitted for review and possible removal from the block list. Or you can have HB support help you adjust your blocking categories to make the filtering better meet your blocking needs What if we find a site that should be blocked and is not? Simply e-mail HEDGEBUILDERS the web address of the site in question at Add-a-Badsite@hedge.org and we will add it to the block list. Or we have an easy to use Web interface for submitting sites for addition to the HB block list Does HEDGEBUILDERS provide filtering for Macintosh computers? Yes we do, click Here Does HEDGEBUILDERS offer free technical support? Yes, there is no charge for tech support. We ask that you attempt to have your questions answered first via e-mail.
